Item #3 TABLE-TOP PRINTING PRESS MADE BY CRAFTSMEN MACHINERY CO.

A cast iron jobbing press made in North America. I bought it in 2003, it came from Don Black via Frog Hollow Press, probably dates from the 40s or 50s at a guess.  It is 22” wide, 29” deep, 34” high including the side lever. (Note: Boxcar Base sold separately)

Chase size (inner measurement) nine by six inches. Wooden feed tray (replacement), rollers good, extra chase. Side lever has been welded at some point in its history, but has given me no trouble, and seems solid.

All my editions since 2004 have been printed on this press, you can see them on www.dewaldenpress.com/all-books/

Included: Wood furniture, 5 Hi-Speed Challenge quoins & keys, 2 galley trays, press wash, some lead type of various fonts/sizes, tympan paper, Rouse slug cutter, Rouse composing stick, Gardner adjustable quad guides, planer, I full tin black ink, I full tin red ink, I part tin black ink. Book: George Mills, “Platen Press Operation”.  CA$1100.00 SOLD
